that she is distantly related to a Templar Knight, has rare HH Blood, and is the biological daughter of Sir Omar Sedaghi. While growing up, she was secretly watched over by various members of vampire society. She moved to L.A. to attend UCLA and to pursue a writing career, where she was romanced and seduced by Tristan Mordecai. Mother of Tomas, Desmon, Marie, Jacques, and River.
Magus

The Magus, aka Desmon Dontinae - First vampire, rules over world vampire society from his mansion in L.A. Born in Mesopotamia with an unknown medical disorder and rejected by his father. His mother realized he needed raw, bloody meat to survive. As he began to understand his power he recruited and transformed others to help him build his new society.

Baron Tristan Mordecai - The second most powerful vampire and wealthy publishing mogul. Born in what is currently Lithuania. Ex-husband of Miranda and father of Tomas, Marie, and Desmon. Splits his time living in L.A. and Seattle. Once, he was blindly loyal to the Magus, but as his children grew older, he realized that the Magus wanted to use them to solidify and increase his power and hold on the vampire world.

Mongolian former bodyguard to the Mordecai Clan in Rossville, Illinois, while still a mortal. Transformed by the Magus against Miranda’s wishes. Knight to the House of Cups and House of Sun. Father of Miranda’s youngest daughter, River Mordecai.
Leif
The Miranda Chronicles
Leif was living on the streets with a drug problem until Henry, an ancient vampire, helped him get clean, and now he plays bass in Henry’s band. Has a house adjacent to Miranda’s, where he raises goats. Was originally hired as daytime security to keep an eye on Miranda. He is the first day-walking vampire, created in a “botched” transformation (a scheme by the Magus to eliminate him). Was blessed by a Mongolian
witch and is learning about the gift she gave him. Conflicted about having become a vampire.
